Market Diseases of Apples, Pears, and Quinces
Pear Bruises
Bruises are occasionally considered a major defect of pears on the market. The principal types of bruises result from friction, impact, and pressure. Damage to the fruits can be quite extensive at times, especially in pears that are beginning to soften.
